Beat the Heat!

It was so hot on Monday that I had to go seeking water. I went to the Squalicum Marina and found a boat to sketch. It was a labor of love - it had to be. My dog wouldn’t settle down, then a cyclist almost hit me, then my little 3 legged chair had one leg in the grass and two on the cement and so I took a spill back on the grass. Such is painting on location! Afterwards I took the dog down to the lake for a quick dip and a cooling off for all!

Lake Wenatchee State Park

Sketching at the campground was a relaxing way to capture the
constantly changing scenes around us.

Steampunk Festival

We had such a great time sketching at the Steampunk Festival. There were
so many subjects to sketch like people, costumes, instruments and food. I started by sketching the jacket on the mannequin in front of me assuming that it would hold still and wouldn't move. As soon as I finished sketching it, someone came up, tried it on and bought it. Suddenly it was gone!!
